Most of Bentley OpenUtilities Designer’s dialog boxes can be customized by configuring a resource-only DLL file named GuiResDLLu.dll. Dialog labels can be customized, and controls and field layouts can be enabled or disabled. Configuration of this DLL requires the use of Microsoft Visual Studio.

The customization of these dialog boxes is subject to the following limitations:

1. Items cannot be added or deleted.
2. The resource identifiers cannot be renamed.
3. In some cases, a control cannot be enabled or disabled because it is dictated by core code. (For example, core code governs the Quantity/Length control on the Work Location Properties dialog box, which is is enabled only for span-type work locations.)
4. Controls for some dialogs are limited to a maximum
